Gold prices fell for the second day in a row in the national capital on Wednesday, falling 631 to 51,367 per 10 grams amid appreciation, according to HDFC Securities. In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at 51,998 per 10 grams.
Silver prices also fell 1,681 to 62,158 per kilogram from 63,839 per kilogram in the previous trade.
Meanwhile, it was up 4 to close at 73.31 against the US dollar on Wednesday, following the weakness of the US currency.
In the international market, gold traded with marginal gains at USD 1,896 an ounce, while silver was stable at USD 24.16 an ounce.
"Gold prices were trading lower gains but continued to trade below $ 1,900 since the beginning of the week with a surge in the dollar index that reduced investor appetite for precious metals," said Tapan Patel , senior analyst at HDFC Securities (commodities).
